I. Facilitate and Inspire Student Learning and Creativity
Teachers use their knowledge of subject matter, teaching and learning, and technology to facilitate experiences that advance student learning, creativity, and innovation in both face-to-face and virtual environments. Teachers:
1. promote, support, and model creative and innovative thinking and inventiveness.
2. engage students in exploring real-world issues and solving authentic problems using digital tools and resources.
3. promote student reflection using collaborative tools to reveal and clarify students' conceptual understanding and thinking, planning, and creative processes.
4. model collaborative knowledge construction by engaging in learning with students, colleagues, and others in face-to-face and virtual environments.
My progress toward this standard:
Evidence 1: In class we used a tool to collect data on someone's wingspan, foot size and height. We were in groups and all collected the data which we put in data tables and then used those to make a bar graph to show our results. After this we presented our data to the class and compared our different data collections. From doing this we had to use tool 1 with having creative thinking, 2 by engaging students to work together by using digital tools, 3 by showing a reflection that showed a conceptual understanding and 4 by having the students collaborate and have a face-to-face environment.
Evidence 2: Using Kidspiration we looked at how different things planned out and were able to connect all our ideas together to better get a grasp on the information. Using this in my class would be good because the students would be able to write down all of their ideas for a project of paper and then be able to connect those ideas and see how they all work together. This tool touched on 1 by modeling creative thinking, 3 by having the students use tools that are collaborative and they were able to show planning and their understanding of a certain topic or idea, and 4 by using face-to-face and virtual environments.

Evidence 3: Another great tool that the we used was Piktochart. With that tool you are able to be creative in what you create as well as use it as something to present an idea you came up with. It's efficient to get your word across and to use because there are templates you can follow as well as being engaging if these are hung in a classroom because they have pictures to go along with the text. This tool relates to 1 because it allows you to model creative thinking, 2 allows students to look at real world issues and present them, 3 by showing that these students are showing a good conceptual understanding of what they are learning and 4 because these students are engaging in learning in virtual environments.

II. Design and Develop Digital-Age Learning Experiences and Assessment
Teachers design, develop, and evaluate authentic learning experiences and assessment incorporating contemporary tools and resources to maximize content learning in context and to develop the knowledge, skills, and attitudes identified in the ISTE-S. Teachers:
1. design or adapt relevant learning experiences that incorporate digital tools and resources to promote student learning and creativity.
2. develop technology-enriched learning environments that enable all students to pursue their individual curiosities and become active participants in setting their own educational goals, managing their own learning, and assessing their own progress.
3. customize and personalize learning activities to address students' diverse learning styles, working strategies, and abilities using digital tools and resources.
4. provide students with multiple and varied formative and summative assessments aligned with content and technology standards and use resulting data to inform learning and teaching.
My progress toward this standard:
Evidence 1: One of the activities we did that could connect to this would be the PBL project which looked at hazardous weather and how it can affect the closing of schools. We created a lesson plan with an activity for the students to follow, they will first get into groups based on the type of weather they want to look at and then from there they will research those types. After they have researched they will present the information they have found to the rest of the class. This tool uses 1 by incorporating digital tools to promote student's learning, 2 by having the students use technology to enrich their learning, and 3 to allow these students to use their own tools and create different presentations about their topics. Also it uses 4 because there is a rubric at the end the students have to follow in order to get full credit for the assignment.

Evidence 2: Another tool that can be used would be Plickers which is an online tool where you can create questions and give the students shapes to hold up that correspond with their answers. It is very efficient and gives the teacher results right away so you can see which students really know the information and which ones might need a brief review. This tool goes along with 1 by using digital tools to look at what the students are learning, 3 by letting the teacher customize what the students are learning and being tested on, and 4 by giving the students and teacher immediate feedback for a formative assessment.

Evidence 3: The instructional video I created is also another good tool for this part because it was meant to teach the students about vowels. It's easy for the students to follow and can teach them about the different types of vowels as well as just give them a good reminder about the different types of vowels if they don't need a full lesson. When I was filming the video I had questions for them to answer so they could be engaged with the video. This tool relates to 1 by having digital tools that are teaching them a lesson, 2 by lets them by in an environment that's boosting their learning and using technology, and 3 by letting students that have different learning styles all be able to follow the video and learn about vowels.

III. Model Digital-Age Work and Learning
Teachers exhibit knowledge, skills, and work processes representative of an innovative professional in a global and digital society. Teachers:
1. demonstrate fluency in technology systems and the transfer of current knowledge to new technologies and situations.
2. collaborate with students, peers, parents, and community members using digital tools and resources to support student success and innovation.
3. communicate relevant information and ideas effectively to students, parents, and peers using a variety of digital-age media and formats.
4. model and facilitate effective use of current and emerging digital tools to locate, analyze, evaluate, and use information resources to support research and learning.
My progress toward this standard:
Evidence 1: Using the tool Smore I was able to create a newsletter that talked about an open house that I was having. This is a very easy way for me to communicate important events with my students and their parents and it will not give the students a chance to loose a paper copy of it. This tool uses 1 by showing knowledge about using technology, 2 by being a way to collaborate with others and 3 by giving these students and parents relevant information that they can find online.

Evidence 2: For the tool Symbaloo you can mark helpful websites that you want to use in the future, as well as share this site with others so they can access the websites too. These are tools that I plan to help me in my classroom when I am teaching as well as for the students and parents to be able to access at home if they need to look over things we have been learning or if they just want extra practice. This tool uses 1 by showing a good use of technology tools, 2 by letting other people have access and use this resource, 3 by giving good information to those people on an online database, and 4 by showing an effective use of technology that is supporting learning.

Evidence 3: Another tool that goes along with this is the website Twitter. It allows me to give the students helpful hints and give out brief reminders to the parents, as well as being able to connect with other teachers around the world. Also I can share some educational resources that I might find and I think might be helpful to other teachers. This tool uses 1 by showing an understanding of a technological system, 2 by letting you collaborate not only with your students and their parents but also other teachers around the world, and 3 by letting you give those people relevant information using a website.

IV. Promote and Model Digital Citizenship and Responsibility
Teachers understand local and global societal issues and responsibilities in an evolving digital culture and exhibit legal and ethical behavior in their professional practices. Teachers:
1. advocate, model, and teach safe, legal, and ethical use of digital information and technology, including respect for copyright, intellectual property, and the appropriate documentation of sources.
2. address the diverse needs of all learners by using learner-centered strategies providing equitable access to appropriate digital tools and resources.
3. promote and model digital etiquette and responsible social interactions related to the use of technology and information.
4. develop and model cultural understanding and global awareness by engaging with colleagues and students of other cultures using digital-age communication and collaboration tools.
My progress toward this standard:
Evidence 1: The tool Piktochart is a good model if these standards. On this website it's helpful for making posters, infographics or presentations and they are very engaging because they have picture that go along with them. I created one for my classroom that had the technology rules on it so they could look up at the sheet and then use it for reference if I wasn't available to answer their questions. This tool uses 1 by showing the proper ways to use technology and websites, 2 by being available for use of all learners, 3 by showing how to be responsible and have goos manners when you are using technology, and 4 by being a very engaging thing for others to be able to use and since it was made on a website.

Evidence 2: Another good tool that goes along with this is Creative Commons License. This is put on people's work in order to help protect them from others stealing their work but while still letting them use it if the author allows. I used this on this website as well as my teacher website to make sure that if people want to use my work they give me the appropriate credit and that they can't sell my work. This work relates to 1 by making my work safe and legal digital information.

Evidence 3: Another thing I used the tool Piktochart for was to make a poster about Internet safety which is a very important thing to talk about with children as they are just getting the hang of using technology. It is a very effective and engaging way for students to be able to see the pictures with descriptions, and some statistics that go along with using technology. This tool uses 1 by showing a safe way to use technology, 2 by talking about things all different types of learners can use and 3 by showing the proper etiquette of using technology.

V. Engage in Professional Growth and Leadership
Teachers continuously improve their professional practice, model lifelong learning, and exhibit leadership in their school and professional community by promoting and demonstrating the effective use of digital tools and resources. Teachers:
1. participate in local and global learning communities to explore creative applications of technology to improve student learning.
2. exhibit leadership by demonstrating a vision of technology infusion, participating in shared decision making and community building, and developing the leadership and technology skills of others.
3. evaluate and reflect on current research and professional practice on a regular basis to make effective use of existing and emerging digital tools and resources in support of student learning.
4. contribute to the effectiveness, vitality, and self-renewal of the teaching profession and of their school and community.
My progress toward this standard:
Evidence 1: A tool that relates to this standard is Code.org. We took some time to complete an Hour of Code which is were you go onto a website and can better get a grasp on computer science and coding of things like apps. This tool can be used by many different people of all ages and learning styles and it gives you apps that have already been made but lets you make it your own. Having this knowledge is very important since technology is so rapidly growing, so this would be a good thing to have my students try. This tool relates to 3 by letting us use tools that have already been made in order to advance our own learning.

Evidence 2: Another useful tool for this standard would be OER Commons that I used to publish my PBL Project about hazardous weather. On this cite you can use keywords to help you search for things that other teachers have made, these can include things like lesson plans or papers. It's very beneficial to be able to look at other teachers work to help improve on your own and it's a good way to connect with other teachers around the world. This tool connects well with 1 by being a place where people from around the world can interact and share ideas, 2 by using my project that can use technology to help with a lesson, 3 by allowing people to find new versions of technology to help them be better adapted to the constantly changing tools, and 4 by being an effective tool for teachers to use.

Evidence 3: By using Twitter and different hashtags that can also be a very beneficial thing to find different things around the world that other teachers have asked about or have tried. To collect some sample tweet we used Storify which can string all of the tweets together so you have them all in one place. All you have to do is search a hashtag about something related to the topic you are interested in and then you will be able to see what other teachers have posted and you can even leave comments and have conversations with them. This tool relates to 1 because you are interacting with people from around the world, 2 by showing leadership by what you share and having a good infusion of technology, and 3 by being able to learn more about the most relevant tools and how to use them in your own classroom.
